About Kate + Jetha
Kate Sessions, Certified Doula (DONA)
I became a doula to advocate for expecting women, leading with my empathetic and compassionate nature.
With decades of experience working with families through childbearing transitions in a variety of settings, becoming a birth doula was a natural progression. My bachelors and masters level education trained me to trust my instincts and respond organically to each situation.
Tailoring my guidance uniquely to fit each client, I cover the full timeline of your pregnancy, from prenatal education and childbirth to on-call assistance during baby's first weeks. Throughout the process, my role is to support and strengthen your choices, providing you with assistance and resources to help your pregnancy be more enjoyable.
As part of your birthing team, I bring a strong sense of stability that will help foster a secure foundation for your family. I am active in helping you and your family trust your body’s innate wisdom without fear.
Additionally, I worked with adoptive parents for several years and witnessed the essential role that a supported transition can play in the earliest moments of life.
Prior to relocating to beautiful Boulder, my training and practice was centered in New York City. If you have any questions or wish to hear more about my experiences please do get in touch.
Jetha Marek, LCSW, Certified Doula (DONA)
I became motivated to assist and nurture others in birth through the experience of having my own two children. My first daughter's arrival unfolded in an unexpected way, so when I became pregnant with my second, I knew I wanted a birth that that I could surrender to and make peace with no matter how she arrived. It was during my second pregnancy and birth that I personally came to appreciate the impact and support of a doula.
I advocate for the birth that the birther desires, whether that’s medicated or unmedicated, at home, in a birth center or hospital. My role is to assist you in creating a space of comfort and normalization in a time of unknown. To provide education and self-advocacy where needed and help the family navigate the unpredictable terrain of birthing and early parenthood.
My background in counseling has naturally lent itself to birth work. With over 15 years experience in the mental health field, I am committed to helping others develop a wholeness in the life that they already have. As a birth worker, I am passionate about creating the same container and agency for clients surrendering to their individual journey of birth.
I attend ongoing professional education in breastfeeding and lactation support.
